Sunday B&W shave.jpg

Sunday's Shave.

Back to T&H Ultimate Comfort cream. This cream has been sitting for a while. The brush is a Simpson Duke 3 in best. The second brush I bought after joining B&B. The razor is my oldest razor: a Fat Boy with a Personna Lab blade. Aftershave was Thayers Rose Petal WH with Neutrogena Triple Protect. After my shower some Jimmy Choo Intense Man and now off to church.

Have a great Sunday, folks.

**I have three of these, two of which splay nicely.
But one stands straight up with backbone to spare,
making it the obvious choice to attack today's mystery puck.

Razor - Above the Tie Atlas R1
Blade - Astra SS
Brush - Simpson's Commodore X3 24mm best badger
Soap - Portus Cale Citrus, Cedar & Amber
A/S - OneBlade aftershave balm

What a wonderful shave today. I hadn't used my X3 in quite some time, so it was a real pleasure to lather up with it. Solid backbone, but splayed great to scrub the lather into my stubble, some scritch but not bad. The Portus Cale is new to me, and the scent is something else. Spicy cedar is dominant, with an accent of a bergamot-like citrus, and it finishes with a sweet richness from the amber. Quite bold, and very, very good. It's a hard puck that created a very good lather with phenomenal primary and residual slickness. It felt like it was already softening my skin when I rinsed after the first pass. I took care to use minimal pressure, and the razor glided with ease. There is definitely a little blade feel with the R1, but it's still nice and smooth, and an absolute pleasure to use; the Atlas handle is so comfortable and easy to control. It did a terrific job with my jawline and neck, and my face feels terrific with zero irritation. Excellent Sunday shave! 👍
