Very close shaving with the cobra. I found this razor to be very permissive, giving me very good shaves.

Bye!

Menthol Monday!

I decided to go for the cool today, and Proraso did not disappoint. I was running a bit late, so I rushed my shave and now I have some irritation. It's not much, but it is noticeable. I nicked my earlobe, too. DFS in any event. Lesson: slow down!

  • Prep: 3P
  • Razor: Cobra Classic
  • Blade: Feather Pro (6)
  • Brush: The BiG Shave 2013 #90/100 by Semogue Portugal
  • Soap: Cella
  • Post: Thayers Medicated Superhazel
  • After shave: Proraso lozione dopobarba
I usually shower before I shave, but I thought I'd put the 3P pre-shave cream to the test. I had a fair bit of stubble since I skipped shaving yesterday. First I wet my beard and with my face almost dripping wet I applied a dab of the 3P pre-shave cream. This is basically a much more creamier version of Proraso pre-post cream. If you've used Proraso you know it's quite a dense product and because of this I think 3P is way easier to apply. From what I can remember it smells almost exactly like the Proraso and has slightly less menthol. I let the cream sit on my face while I loaded my brush. Less than a minute later I wet my face again and face lathered. 3 passes later my face was smooth. Baby smooth in fact. I only had 2 tiny weepers and a few splashes of cold water closed them right up.

I can safely say that of all the pre-shave creams I've tried (Proraso, PREP, VITOS and 3P) this is my favourite product that I will gladly continue using.
