Soap Commander in the Rotation

I’ve been wet shaving for more than a decade. For some reason, I never tried Soap Commander. I recently picked up a tub of Endurance from Pasteur’s and I’m quite impressed with the performance and value. I’m an Old Spice junkie as well and the scent profile is very close to Shulton OS shave soap, which is actually mildly scented compared to the AS. Soap Commander just earned a spot in my rotation!

Thr splash goes on sticky but dries down smooth. Seems like it's got a little more going on than a run of the mill alcohol splash. I got it for the classic scent, which is great. I don't use it very often because even though it's not as strong as the original stuff, it's still a little more than I want most days.

Just checked the price, yeah...seems a little high for what it is. I didn't pay that much.

I had forgotten about Soap Commander. I remember looking at their scents years ago and being impressed, but for some reason never bought one. May have to revisit them.

Soap Commander doesn't seem to get much attention these days, most likely because other artisans are constantly touting their new and improved super formulas with the seemingly endless exotic milk, fat, butter or oil recently discovered. One needs to question if "exotic" (name your fat here) is really substantially better than beef tallow or vegan based soaps.

Soap Commander has been in my rotation for years, and I use it exclusively when head shaving. There's no reason for that other than it works well and is economical.

Oh man you never hear about Soap Commander anymore, really great stuff. I’ve never tried one of their splashes, but their soap is my favorite vegan base out there.

I bought their "Hay, Tobacco, and Rum" soap recently in a discount sale they were having on old stock. They noted that the scent might be muted because of the age, but performance would be first rate.

They were correct that there's hardly any scent. However, the soap whips up easily and fast in my scuttle. I usually use creams only because I've never found a soap that would whip up quickly. However this SC soap definitely does. I may have to rethink using soaps.
