Slim flat front pants?

Hey.

I'm looking for a pair of slim/tailored flat front pants (that doesn't cost an arm and a leg). I spent the evening trying out everything at Macy's yesterday without finding anything that fit. Everything is simple too bulky and not tailored enough.

Would anyone have a brand/store to recommend? I'm 5'6" and around 143 lbs so I'm lucky if I even manage to find my size :001_rolle

Are you looking for casual pants or slacks? If you're looking for slacks and depending on how expensive your limbs are you might want to try a menswear store (such as Jos A Bank or Mens Warehouse) and see if they have any promotion going on. You will generally get a much nice pair of slacks that are tailored to fit you how you want them rather than having to settle for something that just 'fits'.

I would suggest Banana Republic. Most of their clothing is aimed at that particular style. Won't cost an arm and a leg, either. Besides, fit is the most important thing anyways!

Again I realize that my English skills aren't always good enough. What would the difference between slacks and casual pants be? I'm looking for something nice, but not "suit nice" and with a better fit than the standard suit pants (that tend to be pretty baggy). The idea is to use it with a shirt for occasions when I need to be better dressed but not in a suit. Something similar to these: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=473600&CategoryID=89&LinkType=PDPZ1

I'll check out Banana Republic. Thanks for the suggestion! Maybe the Gap might be something to have a look at too?

i've had good luck with Gap's dress pants, although, I don't quite like their prices so i've always waited for their sales to happen. I have a pair of brown herringbone dress pants I bought from the Gap awhile ago and think they fit great

I would check out the Brooks Brothers Clark pants. They're plain-front and slim cut, though I don't think they come in that color. I have them in brown, olive, and khaki.

I am about the same height/weight, and I tried on some Brooks Brother's "Milano" cut pants the other day. They were slim.

Also, you might check out a TJ Max or Marshalls, you don't know what you'll find.

Thanks, I'll definitely try it :)

I'd recommend you check out LL Beans Double L Chinos. Great quality and you can catch some good sales if you watch their website.

I've found some good stuff at Hugo Boss...not sure if that's out of your price range or not, though.

Banana Republic. I am 5'8" and about 150 and find most of BR's stuff to fit pretty well off the rack. My only issue is sometimes finding something I like. Also, I really need a 31 length pants, and BR only offers even number size lengths. As far as a more tailored fit for pants, they are the best I can find without hitting a tailor.

Other than that, I am afraid it gets expensive or requires a good tailor.

Believe it or not, the Gap is the way to go, they're the trimmest of the bunch and have the best cut.

Bananna Republic, Brooks Bro's, even some Ben Sherman look like Dad Pants IMHO.

Dockers make some really nice flat fronts in various flavors, including slim fit. They are all I wear to teach in.

Try these guys. $65 for Made-To-Measure chinos in your choice of fabric and build options is phenomenal, and from what I've heard the quality is also very good (even with or better than department store level). I'm picking up a pair or two next paycheck.

Take a look at what J. Crew offers, too. I wear a 30" and they have a variety of cuts. My J. Crew pants have held up very well, too.

I managed to pass by Banana Republic yesterday and they had one pair of pants that had a near perfect fit and looked good :w00t:

The catch? $100 and dry-clean only. Still pondering on if it's worth it or not.

I feel much less bad about what I spend at "expensive" shops if a hundo only gets you 1 pair of pants at BR.
