I can't think of another way the abilities of the Slant could be expressed. It took care of my face better in 2 passes (with and across) than my R89 does in 3. I'm a believer.

Since I got it via the PIF, I might have to get one of my own. A vintage one maybe.

If only it wasn't so damn ugly...

Tried a number of slants, but for me they were not better than my old-type open combs.

Glad the slant worked out for you. I'll also have to join those for whom the slant just didn't cut it. I get a better shave from my Merkur 1904's, either open comb or safety bar.

That's a perfect example of trying things out for yourself, no two shavers really respond to things the same way.

It's true. Every open comb I have tried (several of them in 2 years of this) has torn my face up. Everything from a New to the super mild Goodfella, my face just hates it.

That's great you found the magic with the Slant. I love my Slant but love some open combs as well. Everybody is different. For me, I have to pay more attention when using the open combs vs the slant but I am sure this is just my technique. What kind of blade are you using? I think the Feathers are great with the Slant - or just about anything else for that matter.

Slant razors are not for everybody but I find they do seem to make a bit of a difference in terms of shaving closeness. Although you can get as close a shave with other razors, IMO you can do it with less passes using a slant razor. Of course, YMMV.

I'm using Shark blades, my weapon of choice. They perform at least as well in the Slant as they do in the Mühle/EJ 89, which is to say, perfectly.

Since I have the Slant through "The Most PIF'd Slant" campaign, I might have to invest in one myself.

Probably the one with the longer handle though...

I always get consistently great, smooth, close, long lasting shaves with the Slant.
