Simpson Berkeley in Pure

Does anyone have a Simspon's Berkeley in pure? I have a Special in Pure and would like to know your thoughts on the Berkeley before pulling the trigger on this one. I face lather and love the scrub of the Special and would like to try another slightly larger Simspon.

I am looking forward to receiving my new Berkeley in pure nowadays from Executive shaving. I presently use EJ super badger but it is too soft for my tough beard. I am wondering how the stiffness of this brush compares to boar hair. We will see..

I have a Berkley, but in Best. I love the Berkley. Good size for face lathering and in my opinion, one of the Simpson brushes which may outperform its price point.

Agree on the Berkeley in Best. Great face lathering brush!

I have both the Special and the Berkeley in best and use them both for face lathering. All in all I prefer the Special because I like small brushes but the Berkeley is a really nice brush too and it does feel a lot bigger on your face than you would expect when you see it (since it is still a smallish brush).

I find Berkeley pure too prickly and unfortunetely not to my taste. I took the knot out and filled it with a TGN silver tip badger which is now my fovourite brush when I travel.

Forget about pure, just the the Simpsons Berkeley 46 in Best Badger comes in 2-band

Used my Berkeley in Best this morning. It's in regular rotation and does a great job.
I've never tried a Pure brush, but unlike many, I don't mind a bit of scritch. Maybe one of these times...

I've been using my Best Berkeley daily for a year now (face lathering exclusively) and it's been fantastic. It's the only brush I own.

I have a Special in pure and Berkeley in best. If you like the Special in pure, the Berkeley would offer the same in a slightly larger knot.

This is truly YMMV.

I love my Simpsons, but my preference is best! Not pure (which is too scritchy). Not super (which is not scritchy enough). Not manchurian (which, to me, is no better than best).

That said, the 46 is a nice handle and well worth having IMO.
