Going through my sample of TOBS from Maggards and I came upon this scent and it almost made me gag. Not a fan of it at all. Since I'm looking to grow my creams and soap collection, I'm looking to avoid similarly scented creams or soaps. Are all scents pegged as "classic babershop scents" similar? I'm particularly curious as I do not want to purchase anything that smells like this. Any help would be appreciated.

"Barbershop" is an imprecise term, used to describe any scent that someone remembers some barbershop somewhere smelled like. In the USA one reference point is Pinaud Clubman, but other folks went to barbers who used Lilac Vegetal or bay rum or something else entirely.
Consider the T&H sampler: see the wiki page Shopping_for_Samples for links. Each sample has enough for 2-4 shaves, and the creams all shave very well. I enjoyed most of the scents. The ones I dislike are well-made, even if they are not for me.
