Simfix, or Vulson?

Does anyone have any experience with the new offering featuring the Vulfix Grosvenor handle coupled to a Simpsons Two Band Super knot?
The price seems very reasonable for a brush in two band Super, and the Vulfix handle is very attractive..

Anyone order one yet??

It certainly has my attention!

This is my impression:

This brush caught me at first glance...just everything about it is of a simple perfection: the handle, its grip, the total dimensions, the dimensions of the loft, the two band super....and last but not least its price...
Grab one while you can...

TH 105 mm
HH 55 mm
LH 50 mm
KD 22 mm

PS: i have to admit i've been iterating towards smaller brushes in the past years....

I always liked the double band feature of the Grosvenor so I made my own.

Dr P, how do you find the density of the Vulson compared to the smaller Colonel?

I have both. They are wonderful brushes. The Colonel two band seems a little denser to me. Both handle soap well. The Vulfix does a good job with creams but does seem to be a bit of a lather hog. I had to use more product but the brush and I are still learning each others ways. It was a joy dealing with Bullgoose - Phil seems like a nice guy.

drP, would love to know how you would compare your X2L Ehsan (?) to the
X2L in best, and how you would compare either of those to the Commodore
X2. I am seriously considering one of these for face lathering creams. Looking for something denser than my B&BEv2.

On looks alone, I ordered a Grosvenor LE and I'm hoping it's dense enough!

Does anyone know if its knot is the same as that found in the 90th Anniversary Astor or the Ehsan? I sold my Astor as it wasn't dense enough for me. I'm encouraged by drburt's comments about it being a bit of a lather hog!

I will be interested in your review/observations of this brush.

I think you will find it dense enough. Compared to the Ehsan the knot diameter is just a little smaller and the loft is a little higher. As I said the Ehsan is really good on soaps. With the higher loft and smaller knot diameter I felt the Grosnenor LE would be a good for both soap and cream. At this point that assumption seems to be holding, but it does seem to take more cream to lather for 3 passes. I am still breaking them in and really like both brushes.

Nice and encouraging input, Burt. Will report in once mine arrives on Monday!

I just ordered the Simfix Grosvenor. Looking forward to using it. It was a toss up between the Simfix Grosvenor and the Simpsons Ehsan. Based on the positive reviews, I think the Ehsan may be my next purchase.

I placed an order with Phil @ Bullgoose for a Grosvenor LE 2 Band brush less than half an hour ago...(along with a flacon of Alt Innsbruck). Within SEVEN minutes of payment by PayPal, I received a personal email from Phil stating shipping arrangements etc. Fellas, this is what I call SERVICE! Phil, you carry many products I enjoy and I believe you have secured a customer for life!

First, I must echo Mike's comments about Phil's service. I placed my order with Bullgoose Thursday afternoon and quickly received a "thank you" email from Phil. Less than 48 hours later, Saturday morning, I received my Grosvenor LE!! Service, indeed! This was my second order from Phil and I'll return again and again and again.

As for the brush...

After three uses, the Grosvenor LE is shaping up to be a great value. As I had mentioned, I was a little disappointed in the density and firmness of my Simpson Astor so with a little apprehension, ordered the Grosvenor based on initial reviews (and its handsome design). My worries disappeared as soon as I used the brush for the first time.

This brush is denser than my Astor and only slightly less dense than my Rooney 2-band Stubby 2 but with noticeably more backbone (see my pre- and post-bloom pics). In fact, it's nearly as firm as my Rooney 1/2 Finest! Its density is just about perfect for me: enough to add nice firmness but with enough "flow through" to quickly produce and give up lather. This brush was loaded with AOS soap in about five seconds (even though I kept going longer :001_tt1:). It's nice and firm but its deep, white tips feel fantastic on my skin. Lather comes quickly and in abundance. Shedding? Three short hairs on the first try, one on the second, none on the third. I like this trend.

For the price, the Grosvenor LE is looking hard to beat and compares very competitively with brushes costing twice as much. Go get one while you can!

That 2 band Grosvenor looks really nice, although it's a smaller brush that I'm going for these days. Seems to be shaped a little more like the old Simpsons.

so just to be clear as I'm caught in the excitement wanting to get one of these.....does this brush work with soaps??? I use a Kent BK8 and looking for something which is a little stiffer!
