New and unwashed. Used once, damp, and bloomed.

It is a huge knot.

I have lots of large knots including another Oumo in 29 mm, but this is a lot larger. I like it. I like all three of my Kirins, in 25mm, in 27mm, and in this 29mm.

Happy shaves,

I think the M6/E4 are about the most luxurious badger knots out there. I have Simpsons, Shavemacs, Paladins, Chisel&Hound Fanchrian, Thater, Arno, Boti, and a bunch more. I so liked the Oumo knots I ordered one of the Origin knots and had @Rudy Vey make a custom brush handle for it. It is dreamy to use, though unless your thinking about it as a generations brush not sure you can justify the cost

I'd like to hear more about the Origin knot. I'd hope it is very dreamy to use, but I'm not sure what you mean by dreamy. I'd like to know a lot more about its qualities, feel, density, flow through, backbone, balance of qualities, face feel, whether it feels gelled, anything you can think of really.

How does it compare with other knots you've used?

Thanks and happy shaves,

Jim

It's an interesting knot. It is unprocessed. The hairs are individually selected. It is dense, between an Oumo SHD and UHD. The backbone is up there with the Tyrant. It was initially a little scritchy but has been softening with use. The more I use it the more it feels like the Oumo LM-1, which is extremely processed but also dreamy. The closest non Oumo I have would be a Shavemac 2 band silvertip. The Origin picks up water easier and has better lather flow than the Shavemac. If you want a less expensive comparable experience I'd try an LM-1. Being more processed it won't last as long as the Origin. A well used Boti Captain SHD is comparable. It feels better on my face than my Thaters and Simpsons. My C&H Fanchurians come close when well used. My Paladins 2 band badgers are a little stiffer and scitchier.

Keep in mind they are made one at a time and each bristle selection will be unique so I don't know how they might vary.

Thank you very much. That gives me some idea what it is like, I think.

I have the E-2 and I am interest in the Kirin. Can you describe the main differences between the two?
The Kirin knot is more spherical.
The ends of the hair are natural.
The density is similar.
When touched dry, they are less rough, more delicate.
I really liked this knot.
I just ordered another one in size 27 mm.
