Should one choose one's aftershave based on his skin type?

I don't use balms and milks because I prefer drying properties of splashes. Other than that I wear what I want, (with LotH's permission of course) when I want. If someone other than LotH has a problem or doesn't like the scent I have numerous walls they can direct the complaint towards.

If your question is if you got a sensitive skin you should get a sensitive aftershave, yes and no. Yes as you probably will have less issues and no because a sensitive AS is not always a perfect match. Something else might work better. As an example, I, apparently, have sensitive skin. I always believed that AS splash with alcohol where very bad for the skin. I never used them. One day I did and never looked back. I don't have any issues and my skin seems better even than when I used the Nivea Sensitive skin balm (used that for a good 15 years)

Absolutely. Every choice in wetshaving should take into account one's beard, skin etc. There's nothing unique about aftershaves that excludes them from this.

Some AS' for dry skin, some for older men, some for sensitive skin, etc.?
The above said, there isn't one solution for each of your examples. Older men don't all have the same skin. Sensitivity varies from person to person.

I use a very wide variety of products from balms to alcohol based aftershaves to witch hazel to home made from scratch to modifying off the shelf products.

I will choose what to use based on the shave results.
