Should brush hold its shape?

I was curious about something. I was generously PIF'd a silvertip to get my shaving journey started and it feels great on my face. One thing I have noticed is that when I am applying the lather to my face and/or face lathering, the brush does not hold its shape, which seems to make the application/lathering a bit more difficult. Is this normal?

I don't use silvertip anymore but when I did, I just used lighter pressure and caressed my soap puck and face with it.
Treat it like a woman and not your sibling. In other words treat it gently and lovingly and not rough.
Choke up on the hair like you would a bat if you need more backbone, but use light pressure.
strictly my opinion.

Thanks for the advice marty. I tend to be a bit heavy handed with everything. I will try choking up and using lighter pressure.

Out of curiosity, what sort of brush do you use now?

Whipped Dog Pure Black Badger. I have 5 different ones. They are awesome brushes.
