One thing is that the "Barber" uses canned goo on one of his customers, goes ATG with only water....
What really shocked me was that he said that it was not possible to get proper shaving soap anymore....

His razor technique looks impressive and quite gentle. Too bad he didn't want or couldn't search the Internet as Weleda, one of my favorite shaving cream makers, have a website in Danish - http://www.weleda.dk/
I bet there are distributors for German and Italian products as well, only takes some Internet or Yellow Pages search.

Actually, the lather looks pretty good to me. He mixed whatever he got out of that can with quite a bit of water.

No hot towel. He just applied the lather to a dry face and then shaved away.


Agreed that his razor technique looks really good.

Clearly, he's not trying very hard to find it.

It's probably easier in his eyes to use canned goo, and most of customers probably don't know any better.

It isn't unusual for an old guy not to be familiar with the internet.
I think he actually doesn't know that shaving soaps still exist:
