shaving dome

anybody shave their head with a DE?

ordered my ED89L and some super iridioums based on research here, just wondering who shaves their head with a DE and what should I expect.

I used to shave my head with a slant with great results. Apparently I am the only one who thinks I look good with a clean dome. I grew my hair back.

I use a headblade, works great.

Same here, and I am a recent convert to the headblade. It works better, and gets a cleaner shave than anything else I have used. I have been too afraid to use a DE, but have received favorable results using an Injector.

I've been shaving my head for 7 years.
I used to use the Mach 3 on the face and the Headblade with a Sensor cartridge on the head.
When I first switch back to DE shaving I still used the Headblade on my head.
Then one day I said this is stupid having to shave with 2 different razors.
So I learned to shave my head with a DE, no problems after a slight learning curve.
I use all the razors in my rotation on my head, my favorite is a NEW with long combs, doesn't rake the scalp like a Old Type or short comb NEW.
Recently I tried SE shaving, I'd heard the horror stories and didn't feel I'd be able to shave my head without a blood bath, again no problem the face shave went so well I shaved my head too.
Shaving with a non-pivoting razor is a Skill, some of us are just more skillful then others.

looked at it, liked the fussion 5 blade,,,,didnt think a 3 blade would do that good a job.

Just finished my head with an English Rocket and a platinum astra.

I figure ill be shaving with 2 blades for a bit. till I have things settled in the face & then switch to the head.

Depending on my mood, I shave my head with SE, Injector, DE, Atra, Sensor, M3, Fusion, and sometimes, a mix of types. Tonight I shaved my head with a pre '51 fat handled Tech and a Racer blade. The Racer blade gave me a BBS shave on my head with no irritation, even though it chewed my face up. Seems to be an extremely sharp blade, as it removed 5 days of growth from my noggin very quickly.

I shave at least every other day, 5 days feel really bad for me.

I shave my head every other day with my fatboy

I use my Fatboy, My Progress and the rest of my DE razors in my rotation on my head.
But that being said shaving my head with a DE was a skill I had to learn, there's lots of territory where your shaving blind and mirrors in my opinion are little help.
I always shave the whole head with the grain 1st pass, then to across and against the grain passes on the back of my head.
I also have a convoluted scar on base of my head that requires careful shaving.
But with diligence and practice shaving the head is as easy as face shaving.

nice site & work:thumbup1:

Along with the Headblade I also use a Braun electric on my head. It actually does a pretty decent job on my head, much better than the face. But when I want it to be perfect I use the Headblade.

Wow, felt good to get that off my chest.

I shave my head in one pass across the grain on everything. I lather up the front and top first as they are the easiest to do. Next i lather the back of my head and shave it. One trick i have found for shaving the back, only works shaving across the grain, is to reach around my head with my right arm, place the razor at the proper angle then swivel my head instead of trying to move my arm around my head. I have one small scar on the top of my head i have to worry about but other than that i can shave my head every bit as quick as i did with the mach 3
