Shavemac Razor

My wife is considering buying me a shaving set for Father's Day. After discussing custom brushes with Bernd, he tells me that he can make a matching safety razor. Here it is in Black. http://www.shavemac.com/shop/product_info.php?currency=USD&language=en&info=p1238
My questions are these:
1. Has anyone bought this razor and if so, what do you think?
2. Is it better not to pursue such purchases in the name of vanity and stick with razors that work?

Ask him whose heads he is using. I tried to find a post with that info but I was unsuccessful. At any rate, I am sure Bernd would be more than willing to answer your questions.
