Shaved with a Travel Tech this morning

So I'm getting ready to take a long Memorial Day weekend with me fiancee up in Houghton, MI, where I went to college. I picked up a Travel Tech along with a travel brush and travel sized Proraso a while back, but hadn't used the tiny little Travel Tech yet. I decided to give it a test run this morning to see how it worked before going out of town with it.

WOW! One of the best shaves that I've had in the few months that I've been wet shaving. The handle took a little getting used to and essentially had to be pinched between my thumb and the side of my index finger, but beyond that it was easy enough to use. This was my first shave with a Tech (I've got a Ball End sitting in the cabinet that I've yet to use) and I was surprised at first when I put it up to my face. It felt like there was quite a bit of blade exposure. Once I got to shaving, however, it seemed mild enough, along the lines of a DE89, and very smooth.

When I was done with three passes and a little touch up there wasn't a nick, cut, or weeper in sight and a splash of Floid Blue left very little burn. Now I'm looking forward to trying the Ball End Tech that I've been sitting on!

The Tech is a very nice razor. Mild, but very efficient. I think a lot of folks dismiss it, but everyone should give it a try.

I got one too from at an antique show and i haven't used it until last week. I thought the handle was going to be too small but it shaved marvelously. I think I will use it when i travel. Now i need a travel brush.:biggrin1:

Which antique show did you find yours at? I saw one of your threads they other day and saw that you were in GR. I'm out in Holland but work in GR by the airport. I highly recommend the Simpsons Case as a travel brush. They make a tube for it (sometimes sold with it, sometimes sold separately) that works great!

I actually found it in DC when I was there last month.
