Shave sticks in plastic tubes

From what I've seen, there are two different ways that shave sticks come packaged: One is wrapped in foil (which I assume is peeled off as the stick gets used) and the other is in a plastic "tube" similar to a deodorant stick. I'm looking to get the names of some of the latter, since I travel occasionally, and would prefer a shave stick that is nominally protected, rather than "loose" in my toiletry bag.

I'd greatly appreciate any names (and maybe scent descriptions, but that's not a make-or-break item).

Thanks!

I have a few of Mama Bear's shave sticks and I love them. You can order any of her pre-made sticks, or buy the empty tubes, melt a tub of her soap and make your own.

Tabac
Irisch Moos
Taylor's Sandalwood & St. James
Ogallala sticks
Mama Bear's Sticks
QED Sticks

More Im sure but that's all I can think of right now.

You can also use empty pill bottles for those sticks that are foil wrapped.

La Toja

And Tabac comes in the protective shave stick as well.

And Taylors has a protected shave stick range

Oh and Ray's ( Thirdeyes ) Gentlemens Best comes in a stick as well, just happen to have one sitting on my desk as I type..... :001_smile

La Toja is my standard travel stick, but if I want to take anything else in foil I usually just chuck it into a zip lock bag in my wet pack.

See, that's totally cool! Less than 8 minutes and not only do I have 3 useful answers, but one alternative that I hadn't even thought about.

This place really rocks my socks. :cornut:

D. R. Harris as well.
Arlington is one of very very few fragrances I've tried (since I started getting high end shaving products) and instantly said "wow I love this scent". Most grow on me after a few samplings.
It may be the english fern in there that I like, I dunno. It is light/clean with english fern and citrus.

I think you'd be better served picking the best soap without worrying about the packaging. The pill box is one way. I ordered some empty tubes for the others. The tubes are way too large for the soaps, so I (learned the hard way and) ran a chopstick through the center to make a hole that could be used to mount the soap onto the plastic thread. (At first, the thread bent and came out the side. That's why you need to use something like wood or metal to make the hole in the soap.)

I even have a couple of soaps "milled" into a stick.

I have grated williams and put it in an empty deodorant stick with a little water to make it form back together and it works better that it did in original form. Options.....many options:)

D.R. Harris has Arlington and Marlbough in shave stick tubes as well.
Both are fantastic sticks. Along with my own GB I enjoy the Arlington.

Sue at Mama Bear sells empty tubes as well as great puck containers. You can melt or grate any soap into them. Medicine bottles are great alternatives.

The worlds best shaving soap, TABAC, is available as a shave stick in a nice "deodorant" type container.
And the stick is wide enough, so if you want, you can use it as a regular soap & don't have to go the shave stick route.
Exactly the same soap as in the ceramic bowl.
