Guys I know one of the reasons everyone enjoys using a scuttle (besides the warm lather) is that the slight ridges in the bowl help make incredible lather when compared to a smooth bowl. Well I was at Target today and saw this bowl. I looked a bit harder and the ridges you see in the picture, while slight, are actually present throughout, not just glossed over smooth, so I bought a 2-pack (they only have the 4-pack online) for $12.99 and they work great - plus I have a backup. Just thought I'd share.

Hi. Thanks for the tip. I was planning to give a brush and some cream to a friend for his birthday and I might just add one of these.
They are nice bowls. I have a puck of Tabac in one and GFT Lime in the other.
I use one very similar to this that I picked up from the potter at a local craft fair. It works very well. I start by soaking my brush in the bowl filled with very hot water. By the time I finish stropping the razor the bowl is preheated nicely. The heavy clay/ceramic really holds the heat throughout the shave.

I got two "Dipping Bowls" from Target that look very similar, could be the same product line. I find the dipping bowls to be a perfect size for lathering.
