Sharpest SE Blades

Hi,
I want to jump from DE razor+Feather to SE+sharpest blades.
Any suggestion? Any that fits the Burham 1909? Do I need to remove the spine for this razor?
Same for the Micromatic?
I found some NOS GEM original blades in Eby. Mint codition. Will they be useful for shaving today?
Regards.

I believe the sharpest are the Treet blades, but that's just based on how they feel to me.

The NOS Gem blades are old carbon steel that will be quite rough to shave with.

I'd concur... I think carbon steel blades are going to be sharper but the stainless steel blades from Walgreens or Ted Pella keep the edge longer.

I don't know about sharpest, but the Treets are definitely the smoothest, but they don't last that long. 2 shaves is about all I get. I think the Ted Pella are the sharpest.

Cristobal41,

The only blades I have used in my GEM/Ever-Ready SEs are the current GEM, PTFE coated stainless.

For me, they give superb shaves - so good in fact, that I didn't feel the need to expolre futher on the SE blade front :001_smile

Have fun !

Best regards

Russ
