Sharks

I have seen the mention of sharks and I am not finding much on them with a forum search and no review on them either. So how my question is how do they rate?

Well there are the Shark Super Chromes and the Shark Stainless Steel blades. Personally, I think the Super Chromes are a tad better than Derby blades and Derby's are my usual go to blade.
The Shark Stainless, for me at least, seem to tug a bit and I don't get near as comfortable shave with them.

As always, YMMV.

The Shark Blades are made by Lord in Egypt. There are two varieties Super Stainless and Super Chrome. I like the Super Chromes and haven't tried the Super Stainless ones. They are sharp enough for me and I get a nice irritation free shave from them. Often they can be had for under $15 per 100.

Here are a few threads discussing them.

Shark SC's are my favorite blade of the 1/2 dozen different ones I've tried since starting. They shave well for me and don't tend to irritate my face plus they are very economical to boot. :thumbup1:

I have and use both the SS and the super chrome, both give me three very good shaves and one acceptable shave, excellent results as i have tough whiskers.

I have used both Sharks and Derbys. I think Sharks are a bit sharper and smoother than a Derby. However, They do not last as long. I can only get 3 to 4 shaves out of a Shark. I can get 7 shaves from a Derby. Either way, you're not breaking the bank.

I just ordered some Sharks Derby extras and Gillette Yellows from westcoastshaving. I have tried the yellows and liked them and I want to give the derby another shot now that I have a better tech

I ordered some Sharks Super Chrome after reading a review and reading this thread and I have to say I am very happy with them. It felt like the blade was just gliding over my skin, I felt no pulling or irritation at all. At first I thought it wasnt touching my face at all until i felt how smooth my face was after a pass! LOL
So far my shaving pleasure has increased immensely after joining this forum!

I am a newbie. Started with Merkor, and then Sharks SC. I like the Sharks better. No issues. I have tender skin, and I'm 56 so I sag(!) and yet I can still get a good shave. I finish with a cold water rinse, Aqua Velva, then a moisturizer. At night I wash with Cetaphil, and along the tender parts of my neck I sometimes sleep with a light layer of A&D ointment. My skin and beard line have never been better.

I am going to try a Derby next, but I think I will order 100 Sharks. BTW, I get a week of shaves from them, no problem.

While I am a big fan of both varieties of Sharks, and think that for the money they are certainly worth trying, I've come to believe that blade selection is the very essence of YMMV, perhaps only equaled by scent preference.

That said, they are my blade of choice, and is there anything cooler than a shark logo?
