Has anyone tried this scent? It is suppose to be a true rose scent. I have to say I am a bit of a fanboy in regards to Serge Lutens. I have seven of his scents and am thinking about sending away for a sample of this.

have not. but just got my first Luten's scent a few weeks ago, which are you're favorite?
I haven't tried it yet but Lutens knows his way around a rose, no doubt about that. Trouble is, what is a "true" rose scent? or any "true" scent for that matter? Creed's Fleur de The Rose Bulgare is the best rose scent I've ever experienced but I also love Paestum Rose by Eau d'Italie. Then of course there's Rose Otto from SMK... It's like sweating roses! but I couldn't afford anything more than a wee sample. Anyway, back to Lutens, no, haven't tried it but I expect it's well done. You should get a sample and enlighten us!
I would love to try the Creed. Is that even produced anymore?
Sadly, like all the others in the Private Collection, no, it isn't. But this one is fairly easy to find still and doesn't usually demand high prices - compared to other well known discontinued Creeds. Check Crystal Flacon, you should be able to find some there.
I have a ton of Lutens that I love: MKK, Serge Noir, Fille en Aiguille, 5:00 Gingembre, Cuir Mauresque, Boxeuses, Chergui, Fumerie Turque, Sarassins, Fleur d'Oranger, and Tubereuse Criminelle.
Sadly, I think he butchers lavender and sandalwood, which is so effing weird if you ask me.
Chergui, Un Bois Sepia, Borneo, Cedre

Five O'Clock Au Gingembre
Fumerie Turque
Fille en Aiguilles
Gris Clair (the opening; the drydown is a bit sweet or me)
Borneo 1834 (I liked it more the first time I tried it than the second)
Borneo is a bold call.
