Razor: GEM Micromatic Clog-Pruf
Brush: Rudy Xey in finest
Cream: Godrej Luxury
AS: AV Ice Blue

Gem Micromatic OC w/ Gem SS blade (11)
Vie Long brush
Dove Pro-Moisture cream/Godrej super lather
Pacific Shave Company Caffeinated After Shave

Blade is done. Too many passes and touch up strokes required for a decent shave. My last shave of SE September will be with a Schick injector blade.

Gem G-Bar
Gem Stainless PTFE
CFG Cryogen Pre-Shave Gel
Razorock Chrome Silvertip Synthetic
Dapper Dragon Arctic Wyrm
Stirling Black-Ice Witch Hazel and Aloe
CFG Cryogen AS

Good frozen, menthol bomb, morning to everyone! My G-Bar did a great job this morning even with the crazy level of menthol in this morning's shave.

Have a great day everyone!

With two days of SEptember remaining, I used an English Ever Ready 1912 today. Nice shave, though probably not as close as yesterday's with my G-Bar, even though the G-Bar seems milder/smoother in use. Weird.

Today's shave, my penultimate shave for SEptember, both head and neck:

GEM Micromatic Open Comb, GEM coated, Stirling Obsidian, Rubberset 400, witch hazel and a splash of Clubman Classic Vanilla.

$IMG_5175.jpg

Another nice shave. The Stirling is nice and cold, working well with the aggression of the MMOC.

ER 1912
Gem carbon steel blade
ebay goat milk soap
Razorock synthetic brush

Just one more day and I can go back to my Feather and Weck straights and my slants.

18th shave this SEptember
Razor:ADELENE
Blade: PTFE
Brush: Cheap Boar brush off Amazon
Lather: Kiss My Face
AS: Lucky Tiger Bay Rum
I took the spine off the blade and put into the razor. It was not a perfect fit but I was able to tighten the razor so the blade would not move. Much less aggressive then the blade with spine pictured below.

Another great shave with this razor. It kind of hit me while shaving, that I am probably the only on in the world shaving with these types of razors pictured above. I love the oddball razors I have a small case with razors that pretty unusual. Most are unable to be used anymore, but if I can pick them up pretty cheap I'll buy them.

Friday Shave

SEpt. 30th

On the last day of SEptember here is the nicest SE I own. Such a pleasure to shave with a work of art and a piece of history.

I have really enjoyed seeing all of the wonderful razors you all own and have gotten many ideas for future acquisitions.

I think it would be fun to hear from everyone what their favorite/best shaving SE razor is. Later on today I will try to post some thoughts.

Razor: GEM Jumior bar 1901 Lather Catcher
Brush: Rudy Vey in Finest
Cream: Palmolive
AS: Stetson Cool

I finished SEptember as I started it, with my Ever Ready 1914. It was a smoother & closer shave than with the 1912 I used yesterday. There was less sting from the post shave AS too.

SEptember 30 - shave 30

Schick Injector type E
Personna Injector Blade
CFG Natural Pre-Shave Gel
Semogue Owners Club Boar
Dapper Dragon Green Dragon
Thayer's Toner
Nivea Cooling Balm

I started the month with an injector (the Supply Provisions Company Single Edge) and I therefore thought I should end the month with one. My oldest Injector Razor is a Schick type E.

Such a nice shaving tool. The mobility and Intuitive cutting angle is impressive. The inventor for the injector razor understood the problem at hand very well. They made a remarkable razor. Tonight I will raise a glass and toast to this person.

Now I have to do my homework!

Last day of Single Edge September, and I'm skipping a shave.

Glad I participated in SEptember. Except for my SE injector razors, I couldn't master a decent shave with a Gem-blade razor--at least not consistently--so my single-edge razors had become a display novelties. But this month has shown me that SEs, with the right technique, provide excellent shaves.

My favorite? The Gem Micromatic Open Comb I purchased a few days into the challenge. Great razor. I plan to get a few shaves in with it during Open Comb October (OCtober).

20th shave this SEptember
Razor:Gold Company
Blade: PTFE
Brush: Cheap Boar brush off Amazon
Lather: Cella
AS: Lucky Tiger

Wow what a great month! I used one of my "pride of my collection" razors. Found in the wild, this "Gold Company" razor is SUPER aggressive. I even tried de-spinineing the blade to no effect. It gave me a nice cut below my lip. I love the workings and the looks of this razor, but getting a good shave from this beast is hard.
Well my favorite razors are my ER1912, my GEM Clug Pruf, and now thanks to this month I am in love with my College razor. It shaves like a Schick and is aggressive as my ER1912. Honorable mention goes to my GEM Junior Lather Catcher this was also a great shave and a cool piece of history. I hope everyone had a great month. I would like to publicly thank
Sdm84 I asked about an after shave he was using this month and he sent me not just a sample but four. Thanks to him I was also able to try "The Veg"Pinaud Clubman Lilac Vegeta. I found I like it, even though it reminds me of a nursing home. I also really like the Lucky Tiger Bay Rum he was using this month. The best Bay Rum I have ever tried. Thanks to him, and everyone who participated this month.

Modern stainless blades usually say "stainless" on the side of the spine. Modern shaving quality carbon steel blades usually say "009 RD" on the side of the spine, although non-shaving quality blades often say the same.

If they don't say anything I would avoid them.

Get yourself some Gem stainless steel ptfe coated blades and I predict that your shaving experience will be vastly different.

Went back to the PTFE blade. Night and day. Ended up with a great 3-pass head shave with the MMOC. One of the best shaves I've had in a while. Great finish to SEptember.
