Semogue Boar grades

Can someone explain the different grades of boar hair offered by Semogue? For example...
620: Extra 75% tops
830: Premium 90% tops
1470: Best 90% tops
2000: Premium 90% tops mixed with Super 70% tops

I'd also be curious to know why so many of their brushes are labeled "Excelsior" and so few "Semogue."

I have 2 Semogues. Couldn't really see why the AD for brushes, but when something is this good and this affordable, I will spring for one more...

The 620 is a great face lather brush. Compact, but not dense, backbone of a Rhino, but with soft tips.

Yeah, I've been curious to try a 620 as well. There's also been talk of a boar group buy that might be essentially a 830 with the 620's shorter loft. Sounds enticing...

It may or may not happen, but as a Ltd Ed custom, it will probably cost more than usual quality boar offerings.

Either way, the main Semogue vendor likes a couple of the ideas thrown up in that thread, and appears to be discussing these with Semogue.
