Semogue 830 Brush (Pics)

I got my Semogue 830 brush today. Ordered on Sunday and came to Canada in 5 days from Portugal. Going to start the break in process this week!

Two of the exact same razors.. just different handles? Out of curiosity.. why'd ya do that?

Great looking set up!

Looks great!

But 5 days??? That's awesome. What gives with them...their shipping is so hit or miss. My first order shipped right away, my last order didn't leave their hands until a week after I ordered it. It was 2.5 weeks before it got here.

Customs is so hit-or-miss, not their shipping (as far as I can tell). If it flies through customs, I typically get mine within a week. My SOC took a while though.

Thanks for looking everyone. When I got the package it was ripped opened and not even taped shut anyone could have stolen what was inside.

I did a few test lathers this morning to break the boar in!

A Semogue 830 is always a good choice. I just love mine.

Here's the brush new, on arrival:

After 2 weeks (after my shaving, and still a little wet):

I love how the uglier a boar knot is the better you know it preforms. Its like having an ugly significant other that always tries to hard!

Quick question... Are you ordering from http://www.shaving.ie/brands/Semogue.html ?
I've been looking to pick up a Semogue, and I've only found a few sites selling them.

If I may sidetrack a little, I'm looking for a large, dense brush with good backbone. It's hard to tell which Semogue might fit the bill just by looking at the specs. Any help would be appreciated!

Very nice SOTD pic there! Very simple, clean and elegant with a bit of modern! :thumbup1:

Thanks! I'm glad you like it!

Shaving.ie is a very nice store that always provided me good and fast service.

You can also find Semogue brushes at another excellent store: vintagescent.com. Always great service from Leon, the shop owner.

So true! My Semogue hairs look nothing like a new one.

BTW, love those pics!!! The Semogue 830 is really an amazing brush.

Nice simple setup probably less then $100 worth of gear there!

Mühle R89 ~ €27 on a local shop
Semogue 830 ~ € 16.50 on a local shop
Ramekin - €0.50 on a local supermarket
Proraso Crema Liquida ~ €9.95, local shop
Thayers Lavender Toner - €6.15, iherb
Feather blades, pack of 10 ~ €2.25, ebay

TOTAL ~ €62.50, which is about USD$80.00 :thumbup1:

I ordered from vintagescent.com !

Great service from that store. Highly recommended.
