What's new

Secret Life of a Wet Shaving Junkie

Oh dear! I think it's happened to me.

For a couple or three years now I have been shaving exclusively with a DE and Badger. On the very odd occassion I have been caught out and had to use a cartridge razor following an unscheduled night away and though to myself how lucky I was that I had my DE to go home to.

Yet I always felt I was not addicted or anything silly like that as so many people claim to be. No, no, I don't have 43 different blades, 7 different razors and a seperate room for storing my creams and soap collection.

Then yesterday I was cleaning out my bathroom cabinet when it hit me. I'm hooked. Officially. I had been wondering what cream I should get next, since I will be in London, not far Jermyn street where Trumpers and Taylors are so I will probably pop and and see what's on offer.

It turns out I already have 13 different creams and soaps already. Ingram, Proraso, Taylors Sandlawood, Taylors Rose, Taylors Almond, Gillete Red, Gibbs (Portugeuese), Noxzema, Musgo Real, Erasmic, Wilkinson Sword Soap, Erasmic Soap and Palmolive.

Just beside them is my Taylors Herbal Pre shave gel, Proraso Pre and Post, King of Shaves Oil, The Real Shaving Company Oil, Trumpers Extract of Lime and Trumpers Rose Skin Foods. Along with my Nivea Post Shave Moisturiser, Clinqiue M Protect and King of Shaves Post Shave Moisturiser.

I also own three brushes. Two vulfix and a kent.

They are alongside my Merkur Classic, Merkur HD Barbers Pole, Merkur Futur and my Wilkinson Sword cheapy DE that got me started.

I also found my long lost blade collection: Wilkinson Sword, Derby, Personna, Personna Super, Feather and Merkur. All neatly packed in an airtight container so they are as good as new!

My name is Barry and I'm a Shavaholic. You have no idea how good it feels to say that and get it out of my system! :w00t:

Here's to my collection eventually requiring seperate accomodation on the second floor....
