Scruppleworks Oil tanned Horween Pic heavy

I contacted Scruppleworks and ordered an oil tanned Horween leather with genuine linen a few weeks back and it arrived today!! I haven't even used it yet, but thought I would post up some pics. I'll add more comments after I have the chance to use it.

I should add Torolf is a great guy to deal with and everything about the strop is top quality! The hardware is heavy duty and the workmanship is top shelf.

Beautiful work.
I am on the list to get one and just waiting as well.
Seeing these pictures heightens the anticipation.
Thanks for posting and surely let us know how you like it.

Oh you guys are gonna love it! I have had mine for over a year now. It gets better and better with use.

That's a beauty you have there Brian!

Had the maiden voyage on the new strop tonight! Felt good! It is a very highly finished leather with a very smooth feel under the blade. When I saw how highly finished the leather was I expected the draw to be lighter than it is. This is good for me as I don't like an extremely light draw. The best way I can describe it is lightly magnetic. The blade wants to stay in contact with the leather. If you have ever moved two finely sanded pieces of wood across eachother it has that same sort of feel. Not slick, but very very smooth! The resulting shaving edge was excellent. The linen component is second to none!! I so love the linen that it is the only prep side I will use now! I have three strops that get frequent use and I have put genuine linen on all of them.

Very nice strop, Brian! :thumbup1: I own a TM and a Kanayama, but I'm definitely wanting to add a SW to my collection....

that is beautiful! even the "hardware" looks awesome! this on my list for the future, does it come in separates?

I am pretty sure that Torolf does seperates as well! You are right about the hardware. I don't know where he sources it, but it is deffinitely a step up from most.

I absolutely wish to add a TM to my collection!! I am a patient fella and when Tony has fully recovered I hope we all get to satisfy our aquisition disorder!! I am so liking this SW I am considering adding another! Maybe that beautiful Green leather.

Torolf emailed me today and said its going in the mail tomorrow! Yippee!

Received my Scrupleworks yesterday. It is a NICE piece of leather. Very nice.
The draw is medium to me. Definitely heavier than my Walkin Horse Split Hide. The linen on it is also 'coarser' in a nice way. As if I can feel the edge being straightened. The linen is medium for me - in between the WH linen and the Kanayama linen. I feel it is a good differentiation of strop compared to what I already have.
