Sacrilege: Or, I Went Back to the Fusion for a Day

I'm a grad student, and over the summer, this means being able to set my own schedule and pretty much come and go as I please. As a result, I've pretty much forgotten about my alarm clock. I apparently should have set it today because I woke up with little time to shower and shave before meeting a friend. Needless to say, I was in a ridiculous hurry to get ready, and as i reached for my straight I noticed my Fusion sitting there forlornly, unused (on my face--I can't brave a straight on certain areas:bored:) in quite some time. Tentatively, I picked it up and put in a new blade. As I was shaving, I decided to risk ATG on my cheeks and neck, cause I'd only had ingrown hairs on my chin and above my lips from cartridges before (this will come into play later). The shave went alright, but it didnt feel good in any way. In fact, it felt pretty poor--I didn't enjoy the shave in the least. I guess I've just lost all love for this item... I hate the way it glided across my face! I might add here that I don't feel like I'm being biased in the least, as I honestly was worried I'd like the razor and feel like I'd betrayed my new wet-shaving self. This didn't happen, but the shave wasn't horrible either. It was just OK, but also was not something that I derived any pleasure from.

Then, as the evening came around, and I noticed that my stubble came in a lot quicker. I had been thinking that I might actually notice my stubble coming back at a slower rate, because of the pull and cut method of the Fusion, cutting off the hairs below the skin, whereas my straight cuts it off along my skin level. But I'm pretty sure my stubble came in quite a bit quicker than before (on my cheeks, so where I'd gone ATG). This seems to defy logic...anyone have an explanation?
