Sabon NYC Shave cream Review

I am a researcher by profession and understand the necessity to limit as many extraneous variables as possible in order to determine the effect of one variable. As such I tested Sabon NYC shave cream this morning.

All other variables were the same as yesterday's shave, with the exception of the cream (usually Proraso).
Merkur Progress (same setting 1).
Dorco Blade
Kyles prep.
Same time of day (to equalize growth).

I had a very good shave yesterday. Not so much today.

Sabon shave cream is a brushless cream that does not lather.
I placed a layer of the product (little more than an almond). All over.

WTG rinse reapply.
XTG rinse reapply.
ATG rinse go get the Alum block.

It smelled nice. Very light and had an almost citrus and wood scent.
The lubricity was lacking. It made my face feel somewhat rubbery. The blade did not glide well which resulted in three nicks. One was substantial.
I have not given myself a nick in a while using Proraso.

The packaging was good, an old timey silver tube with a black plastic cap.
At $24 a tube I was disappointed.

I have found out what I don't like. I consider this equally important as finding what I do like.

Final grade C, mainly for smell and packaging.

Best,
Mike
