Rex Shaving Brush Help

Does anyone know anything about Rex shave brushes? A friend found one with a cream handle and blue top in great shape except for the considerable shedding. She was asking me this morning about value and I had no idea.
Thanks

There are a couple Rex brands. There is the American brand (I believe) ... basic looking handles not highly distinguishable from the run of the mill Ever-Ready brushes out there. Then there is the German brush, which have more unique handles and the classic Ribbon "Rex Vulcanized" badging. I've seen both types pop up now and again on eBay. I find the German one to be pretty novel and interesting, and I've considered picking one up because I like the logo and retro design.

The people listing them on eBay seem think they have value, because they price them way too high. Of the ones I watch, none of them sell for over $20. The ones that have BINs over that tend to go unsold and you see multiple re-listings. As with any of these things, the only value is how much someone is actually willing to pay for it. I don't think this would be considered a "rare, collectible" brush by any means.

But, they are very nice looking. If there were one available to me somewhere in the teens, I'd snatch it up and reknot it!

Thanks Matt, she asked me and I had no idea as well. I saw the ones on bay and tried to tell her don't believe every price you see on there.
