Review of L'occitane's Eau De Baux

Easily, one of the best values on the market. And perfect for fall and winter.

Great review again. I have this one and it's truely unique to my fragrance collection. I had a sample of TF TV and would agree that they are similar, but not the same..... I just can't see TV being that much better for the price and I went ahead and got a bottle of EdB. Like you say, a great value for a great fragrance of its genre.

Thanks again for the review!

+1 impressive fragrance, warm, sweet, woody and incence. Need to get hold of a bottle of Vetyver sometime soon which my fiancee loves too.

On me, the Vetyver lasts most of the day. EdB is pretty much gone by noon.
I have a backup bottle of Vetyver. When the Eau de Baux is gone, I won't replace it.

Amazing how different this is on different people. One of the only things I don't like about EdB is that once it dries down to pure vanilla - which takes 8-10 hours - it remains for many more hours with a very linear and strong vanilla scent. I get tired of it. And I'm usually the first person to complain about longevity of scents.

I'm with you on this. I did a 180 on this frag, from not liking at all the first time to really liking at least the first several hours. Then it's a mono-note vanilla until scrubbed. Lasts overnight, even, if I let it be, and I do get a bit tired of it by evening. (I don't remember how many hours it takes to dry down to pure vanilla for me, but I think it's quicker than for you!)

One of my favorite cold weather scents too. Its linear and doesn't change much on the skin but its such a nice warm vanilla scent.

Maybe Ill spluge and get the shower gel.

I wasn't a fan of EDB.. while I definitely believe it is a very natural smelling vanilla frag, to me it was just too much! I didn't find it to be spectacular, just good and smelling like a vanilla candle all day became a bit monotonous. I gave it to a friend.

My wife bought this for me this past Friday night, after we sampled it at the L'Occitane shop.

It is not particularly long lasting on me. The vanilla is there but also a woody cedar tone, and later some fresh tobacco. Not overwhelming at all.

She took a big sniff of it on me, got a devilish look in her eyes and said, "Now." :biggrin1:

Worth every cent.

I tried EDB this weekend while I was at the mall. I own their Vetyver and love it. I generally lasts 8 hours on my easily. I sprayed on some EDB then walked around for a bit to see how it would react with my chemistry. Smelled great, but the longevity didn't even last the few hours I was at the mall. Didn't buy it due to it's lack of longevity but I did like the way it smelled.

No problems of longevity on my chemistry. I have been a proponent of L'Occitane from the moment I purchased their Vetyver, and subsequently... everything else they had in the store. The quality you get at such a great price is undeniable. A good review.

Got my bottle of EdB yesterday and wore it today--a very nice fragrance! Glad I was able to score a bottle since it is now indeed discontinued.

Good thing I checked this thread. I had been thinking about snagging a backup bottle of EdB from my credit card rewards site, but hadn't bothered yet. I saw this thread so I thought I had better get on it. They showed just three bottles in inventory, so I went ahead and gobbled up all three.

Interesting, on the L'Occataine Canada website show's Baux as still a current fragrance, however Cade shave soap has been discontinued.
