Ok. I had gotten started and abruptly stopped a month later lol.
But now I'm back into DE.

Along with a Wilkinson shave stick (and original Old Spice haha) to once again try my hand at this DE stuff.
Back in that day I picked up a Gilette Fatboy and superspeed and I've been trying the blades with the Fatboy, but I just started.
So far:
1. Gillette Platinum (not part of the sample, it was there at Art of Shaving and the chick is hot)
-Doesn't seem to cut my beard well and leaves weepers, along with some barely noticeable razor burn.
2. Astra Superior Platinum
- Cuts better than 1 and leaves fewer weepers but a 'rougher' shave, noticeable razor burn.
3. Personna Red
- Cuts better than 2, no weepers and an almost unnoticeable hint of razor burn
sidenote here: WSC has a Personna hospital prep blade. Anyone use both?
4. Derby Extra (green)
- I had tried one before and it was ok, 8.5/10 iirc but it's on the list anyway.
Cuts about the same as 2, left some weepers, minimal razor burn.
5. Gillette 7o'clock, yellow
- Nice clean cutter, smooth, no razor burn. Unless of course you keep going over that little spot without reapplying some lather lol
6. BIC Chrome Platinum
- Decent cutter, smooth, no razor burn. Required more short strokes to cut through.
7. Dorco new platinum ST300
- A touch smoother than #6
8. Crystal DE stainless
- tbd
9. Merkur Super, Platinum
- tbd
10. Feather
- tbd but it's last because I had tried one before. It's as though it takes off the top 10 layers of skin lol.
I'm trying each blade once, narrow it down to the top three (in the Fatboy anyway), and then an extended test to then decide the winner that gets bought at 100.
