So, I picked up a straight razor and an old brush on eBay for restoration purposes, it looked like having boar hair, but what caught my eye was the elegant handle. It was a BIN auction with the option of Best Offer and I managed to get it for about 30% less what he was asking.
As soon as the package arrived, I gave the brush to a friend of mine, who is a shaving brush master craftsman - I'm sure you'll know who I'm talking about, and he managed to remove the original hair, put some extra dense Best Badger hair in a short loft with about 20 mm diameter. The original lettering was also repainted in golden paint.
The result was a slim, elegant brush, very useful for soaps. I just used it now and loved the feeling of it.
Here are the photos of the original shape, and the before and after bloom shots.
