RIP. One of the last of the "politically incorrect" comedians, no apologies, but off camera one of the most giving and nice people. One of the last ties to the "Rat Pack" days as well. He will be missed. One of my favorite roles was when he was in Kelly's Heroes, "CrapGame" and the Dean Martin Roasts.
As a kid I remember watching him on Johnny Carson and I thought he was hilarious. We will never see someone like him today. The world is too politically correct and people are too easily offended.
A true classic. The Dean Martin Roasts, whenever they listed either Don or Foster Brooks as the upcoming "roasters", Dad would sit up and say, "This'll be a good one!"
If you get a chance check the documentary done a few years ago (the title escapes me) by Rickles' son.
Or just spend a couple hours down the YouTube rabbit hole...
RIP Mr. Warmth, and thanks for all the laughs!
