When I was a kid, I used to listen to comedy routines played on Saturday nights around midnight on a local radio station. The Smothers Brothers were always a favorite.
Our family used to watch their show every week as well when I was growing up. They were ahead of their time, in my view. I'd still vote for Pat Paulsen, given the chance. <eg>

Wow, this is sad. I loved the Smothers Brothers as a kid. Great pair of comedians. He will be missed.
Loved those guys and their comedy show like many other boomers in the late sixties.

I used to LOVE the "Yo-Yo Man" as a kid. Their show was one of the ones our folks would allow to watch as it was pretty clean cut.
As a young adult, I was reintroduced to Tommy Smothers in the Documentary "The Kids are Alright" as he was the introduction to the film.
Sad day for comedy.
