remaking a brush

After seeing some of the fantastic brushes made by some of the folks on our forum I decided to redo my brush.

I know nothing to look at but it was my first handle and I was more concerned with getting to try a badger brush than make it beautiful.

Finally, the artist in me couldn't stand it anymore. So I removed the knot from the old handle, found some mystery wood in the shed and a couple of days later the makeover is done.

What do you think?

Thanks, getting the knot out wasn't bad. I expected the worst so I banded the hair in case I had to cut it off. Measured the depth I had the knot seated and cut it off with a bandsaw, the cut was perfect. I then took the knot with the wooden "collar" and put it in a vise until it cracked the wood, rotated it 90 degrees did the same and the pieces just pulled away with a small amout of effort. I had just a few small bits of epoxy that wouldn't come off the hairs but were down low so its all down in the seat of the new handle. I have given it a test run and I'm very pleased with the performance
