What's new

Recommend me an umbrella

The cheap one's i've tried in the past fall apart. Which ones are good at dealing with high gusts and heavy down pours?

GustBuster umbrellas are extremely sturdy.

I have one of these, and I really like it. The only issues is part of a superfluous piece of ruffled cloth just under the tip pulled out a little. It's been like this for awhile now and doesn't affect the umbrella. The rest of the umbrella is tip tip, and it stands up in large gusts of wind.

I recommend it.

Having visited the Fox web site, i just loved the vintage vibe of their brolly selection. One of my ebay finds attached. Having now had time to compare these two very different weapons I note the Fulton is quite baggy in comparison and considerably heavier. The Fulton is probably still my preference for really bad weather. I think the Fox is probably better suited just to steady rain fall.

I have spent years looking for the same umbrella you have but with a maroon red liner under the umbrella outside. See My Chemical Romance's video for the song Helena at the end when they dance with the umbrellas. That is what I want.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSNKCfxcYvE&ob=av2e

Try e-mailing Fox about it, i know they list multiple colours on the covers including tartan. However that rather tasty red internal lining looks distinctly 'bespoke' my friend and will require deep pockets.

Had similar experiences myself.

Off to look at Fultons range now. Cheers!

Just ordered a "Stowaway-23" model. No doubt will have plenty of chances to test it out here in London. Might come in handy for my Amsterdam trip in August too.
