Stirling Christmas Eve

I'm becoming more and more enamored with the Stirling shave soaps. My latest love is their Christmas Eve which I guess they only produce this time of year. I really like the scent. It's woodsy for sure, with a good reminiscence of a Christmas tree but without a big artificial pine scent.

Performance is also excellent. It's soft for a soap, but much harder than I would consider a croap. It's moldable to the container. It lathers up very well. The slickness is superior, with great residual slickness as you swipe twice over the section.

I've added this to my other Stirling soaps - Bay Rum and Conifer. Highly recommended.

I’m finishing a refill puck of it currently! Glad you’re enjoying it as well. To me, it’s mostly a tree scent but with a hint of baking or candy-fruit aromas. Nice combo.

I plan to dig mine out tomorrow….favorite soap this time of year.

I need to get some kind of soap to enjoy this holiday season as I have Never had a Christmas soap to enjoy during the holidays..... I guess I need to start looking for something....

I love it but must admit the scent seemed to fade rather fast.
This is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. Once I Find a soap I like performance wise, I test out different scents. I have found that within a product line that some scents can be extremely weak while others potent. My peeve is that I wish companies would add scent strength, (light, moderate, heavy) in their description. Stirling‘s popular Executive Man smells wonderful when I stick my nose in the shave bowl but barely smell it when using. While Stirling Varen, Haverford, Stirling Gentleman are all strong. Part of the shaving experience is the scent so why not list its potency. Also, Ariana and Evans soaps also run from very mild to potent (Choco Cubano). Chiseled Face has mostly potent scents, that can be very masculine.

Dull yet interesting

Agreed.

A 1 oz puck of Stirling Christmas Eve will last you the remainder of Decemeber.
As I recall, I tend to get about 12-14 shaves out of a 1 ounce Stirling sample. I actually prefer to buy samples instead of a full tub as I prefer variety (as well as not committing to scent I may not enjoy). Varen, is the only Stirling soap that I ever purchased more than a sample, and that was just a 4.5 ounce replacement puck

I buy the samples too and get quite a few shaves out of them, probably 20 at least.
I did buy a full tub of Barbershop and three replacement pucks: Evergreen Forest, Bay Rum and Hot Apple Cider, all of which (of course) I had bought samples of first.

One of my first Stirling purchases included a sample of Barbershop, but it did not excite me much. At The moment my Barbershop scent is Maggards London Barbershop, followed by Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber.

I may get on a Bay Rum search. I do plan on buying a sample of Bay Rum on my next Stirling purchase but likely will try for the EDT. Only other Bay Rum I have tried (and honestly has no clue what Bay Rum smelled like) was a sample of Captains Choice. Scent was okay. I recently picked up a Bay Rum soap and aftershave sample of Chiseled Face. It is really fantastic, very rich and spicy scent. A possible candidate for a future tub. But it will be a while as I have about a dozen soap samples from Maggards to work through including four samples of MDC. I only two of my MDC samples, 7 shaves each, and only half way through. So I expect to get about 14 shaves or double the number I tend to get from other Maggards size samples.

By around June I may be ready for more Stirling samples. Glacial Electric Sheep is on the top of the short list. Already had samples of Scotts Pine and Electric Sheep samples and felt Stirlings mutton tallow line is just better 😃 As I recall, Scotts Pine was a nicer scent than Varen but much weaker.

I typically get ~30 shaves from a Stirling sample, so they are nice products for me. I also appreciate they don't take as much storage space as my other soaps.

30!!! I might hit the high teens at best. At any rate, I get about twice my moneys worth with Stirling samples than I get with Maggards samples 6-8 on average, but expecting double that with my MDC. I have gotten to making records to quantify the Maggards samples. Will do the same with Stirling next time I get samples. All ready to record my 4.5 ounce Varen puck, purchased at the very end of last seasons stock. Still have not yet torn the wrapper off as I want to whittle down dozen or so samples first.

I've been on a Bay Rum search for a few months, a combination of creams and soaps. For creams, I highly recommend the Montana Natural Bay Rum. I don't much care for the Captains Choice, mostly because it takes a lot of product to whip up a decent amount of lather.

For soaps, I like Stirling and Ogallala.

On Captains Choice for a moment, I love their Cat 'O Nine Tails aftershave. The scent is bay rum with an overload of clove.

Sorry for the thread drift. Back to Stirling Christmas Eve!

I bought Stirling Christmas Eve to use this december.
It performs well, and the scent is alright - maybe a little on the sweet side. But hey! It's christmas 😅
