Each line has a different manufacturer:
Karite line = rumored to made by Acca Kappa 1869
RR Classic = Fitness for Men / Figaro
La Famiglia = Tcheon Fung Sing (TFS)
Artisan Line (LOA) = artisan tallow based soaps, 1 veggie
King of the Castle and XX = gut feeling says these are made by TFS
The best soap base is debatable, I find that all RazoRock products are fairly good some being slightly better than others. I've tried at least one of each line and my favorites are:
1. Muguet De France / Muguet di Bologna (same scent)
2. La Famiglia - Green Tobacco
3. King of the Castle Lavender
Let me add clarity here...
The goal with RazoRock is to work with talented artisans, primarily in Italy, and offer RazoRock clients very high quality products at affordable prices. We work with about half a dozen artisans at the moment.
I agree with the point above about "pretty confusing", bassopotamus is right. We were set up as a hobby business, trying a bunch of fun stuff and experimenting. In 2014, our goal is to make things a little less confusing and a little more focused; we have begun to form a quasi plan, if you have constructive suggestions, we definitely welcome them and we will take them seriously.
Whoever is behind the Xmas in Tuscany should have their name written on a wall of fame somewhere. That soap is absolutely heavenly.
The experienced wet shavers who love soaps can immediately feel the difference from one RazoRock line to another and clearly understand the different approach in the manufacturing progress, not only the visible different ingredients list. That said I think it's fair and polite to wait for our friend Giuseppe to disclose the names of the various Artisan makers, only when and if he desires to do so. In the meantime my friends enjoy those magnificent shaving soaps. Thank you.
