What's new

RazoRock Lupo Club - The Pack

Afternoon, the Sunday shave:

Razor: RR Lupo stainless .58 plate with titanium Halo handle
Blade: Wizamet (4)
Pre: Hot water
Soap: Ach Brito Mogno
Brush: RR Big Bruce
Aftershave: Stetson Cooling Moisture
Post: Eucerin

Really nice shave again today, but feel this is as far as I need to go with the Wizamet. Given I tend to be a 2 and done kind of fellow, I'm very satisfied with the first run of this blade and it will be a regular for me. A couple very small weepers in the regular areas, and just a little sting on the alum. Had a touch of burn off the Stetson, but cooled down within minutes, and I like the scent and post shave feel.

9.0/10

Cheers

Have some great shaves!

I used to own a 95 that I bought here on BST. I couldn’t remember why I sold it, so I went through my messages.

I sold it because I felt it was too efficient. I want to shave daily. Too efficient. So dumb lol.

I was new to wetshaving. Imagine being upset about efficiency.

I have ordered the new Lupo 127, and it should be here in a few days. I’m very curious to see how it compares to the Lupo .95, which is my go-to razor. I woulldn’t mind a slight increase in efficency, but this one might be a bit too much. I was expecting a Lupo .105 or .115, I expect to be particularly cautious with this one at first, as I took a while to get my technique dialed in with the.95. I wish the thin bar handle had been an option, but I’ll swap handles so I only have one variable. I‘ll post my evaluation after I get a few shaves in. Gotta feed that RAD for you guys!

Razor: Lupo 95 OC
Blade: Silver Star SS (3)
Pre-Shave: Proraso Green
Soap: Van Der Lovett Sailor's Blend
Brush: Omega Evo 2.0
Aftershave: Reuzel Wood and Spice

Third shave with this kit. The Silver Star blade is sharp and kind. I've determined it is the reigning king of the Lord SS blades. It pairs well with a Lupo 95 OC.

I am trying to make Razorock Lupo my only non-adjustable razor. And Gillette Slim my only adjustable.

This is my 3-rd shave with the .72 baseplate. Not as sharp as I thought that Personna blade in it. Astra blue was better, Treet carbon steel - worst.
Still a good shave, I am never going for BBS, and only going ATG on my neck when I feel confident.

I’ve had a couple of shaves with the Lupo .127. It does seem to be slightly more efficient than the .95, but I wouldn’t say it was proportional. I am being quite cautious. I don’t expect to have a proper evaluation ‘til I relax into things. I meant to put a Wizamet in itsince thatis the blade I normally use in the .95. I think I’ll swap out today. Will post again after a few more shaves.

Another great shave this morning with the Lupo 1.27 on three day's growth. No weepers or drama. I'd place efficiency very near my WR2 1.25 but the Wolfman is indeed smoother.

At this point, the 127 is giving great shaves but I have to really dial back speedwise and take care on my neck to avoid irritation. No problems today post shave.

Of all the gaps offered in the Lupo, I'm still favoring the .95 as my own personal Goldilocks for mostly daily shaves but the 1.27 is working nicely on 3 days growth or longer.

Have some great shaves!

Morning, last night's shave:

Razor: RR Lupo Aluminum
Blade: Wizamet (1)
Pre: Hot Water
Soap: Henri et Victoria Lime
Brush: Omega Boar Pro
Aftershave: Pinaud Lime Sec
Post: n/a

Started with a couple days growth, and first use on the soap. This was a sample kindly sent by Henri et Victoria when I picked up my Henson mild (top notch service btw, came perfectly packed with some soap and blade samples). First try with the Wizamet in the Lupo, and the blade delivered. The soap sample lathered very well, great lime scent, and the shave resulted in a perfect and completely irritation free BBS. So close and smooth in fact, that here about 12 hours later, I really can't find any stubble.

A cousin popped by last night with a giant prime rib. It made it's way into the smoker first thing this morning at 225 with a simple salt and pepper rub. The family is putting together baked potatoes, broccoli salad, and all the other trimmings.

Now that the cooking has started, I'm going to enjoy my Tim's coffee and go hit the sauna for a while. Hope you all have a great day!

10/10

Cheers

Have some great shaves!

No photo today. I did an evening shave on a close to 4 days growth (I rarely go above 2 days, let alone 4). I'm delighted to say that the Lupo 95 SB took care of it like nothing. I was considering swapping the baseplate to the 95 OC, but in the end I didn't bother, and I was right.
SOTD: Lupo 95 SB, 7oc black (2), Frankshaving Pur-tech synth (26mm STF clone), blue speick cream and splash.
2 passes: CCS -> DFS. 1pass would have been enough to get out the door, but I just couldn't stop because there was still lather in the brush :)
