RazoRock Lavenders

Lately I've been in the mood for Lavender (which is weird, because I never used to like lavender.) Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the Chianti Lavender and the King Louis Lavender, aside from about 6 bucks? I hate the fact that they never describe the scents of their soaps anymore.

To my nose, the Chianti Lavender is more of a French Lavender scent, more "Real" if that makes any sense. The King Louis is a softer, creamy, powdery scent to me, more like a sweet English Lavender.

I enjoy both the scent and performance of the Chianti Lavender.

Well, mostly, Chianti Lavender is a tallow soap while the other is a shea butter soap. I have used Chianti Lavender and it is very strong.

It was wasteful with the amount of packaging and shipping those awkward sized tubs was a nightmare. I'm sure Joe also worked some kind of bulk deal on those smaller tubs to keep our cost down as well.

The large jar and hand cut cube hinted special and quality one might expect with an artisan product. The jar made it the only soap I used and the only one I ever reordered to continue using non stop. The new small jar says factory soap, and says made by Cella worker number 37. I like trying different soaps but without the jar I will go back to that plan rather than RazoRock only. Again, I find that small jar unusable. Tobac is great but the jar is too slick for me to hold. People look for the perfect soap, why not have it in the perfect jar?

Still have all your old jars? Swap the soap over when you receive it.

I think consumers should make their wants known. I want the hand cut soap in the large jars. He can choose to not sell, I can choose to not buy. Would you prefer I not make my wants known and just not do business with him or give him a chance o respond to (some) consumer wishes. I am not the only one who likes the old packaging. If I want to swap, I will do it with other soaps.

That's cool. Glad you're so passionate about it.

Start a thread and see if you can gain some interest and maybe send him a PM and see if he has any excess of the soap in the large jars. You never know.

This would without a doubt be the most rational decision in my book. There is no way I would stop buying my favorite soap because they change the packaging. But that is just me.

Why not just hunt for the perfect jar now? Then, when you find the perfect jar, you can put the Tabac in it? Finding an ideal jar or container should be pretty simple compared to finding an ideal shave soap.

Update. My wife opened the chianti lavender to smell it. She declared it to be a vastly different scent. She called it unscented, compared to my nearly empty hand cut, large jar. Has anyone else experienced this? I believe this is not the same soap and not made in the same place. Different package, different scent, probably factory made. Maybe by Enrico Artisan, factory worker number 37. I do not know how it shaves, it may performs exactly the same. I have not tried it. Before it was a great product, great scent in a great package, now.....? Sorry to be such a curmudgeon.

You should just email Italian Barber directly and ask him. He is an honest guy. He is here in the vendor section as well. I am pretty sure he will tell you if the soap has been changed. I have not tried the new packaged lavender you are talking about, but I did own the 8oz tub with the hand cut cube (the old one you are talking about). The lavender was incredibly potent smelling.
