RazoRock Classic TTO Impressions

Took delivery a few days ago of one of the new RazoRock Classic Twist To Open classic razors.

First impressions:

It's made of brass, and that makes it heavier than most modern razors, which are made of Zamac, or something like it.

Very nice chrome finish, no flaws detected, razor is well assembled, and the knurling on the handle is nice and sharp, not unlike the checkering on some of my better rifles. The doors open evenly and smoothly, and blade exposure is even on both sides.

It's a long razor; longer than my 34C or 1904 Merkur, and longer than my EJ89. Balance point is easily found.

It's about as aggressive as a Merkur, but smoother somehow. The weight of the thing plus its handle length
make it easy to get just the right weight on your face for a smooth shave; the pressure of the head against your skin is easily adjustable depending where you hold the handle.

I'd say that Joe has a winner here. In my estimation it's worth at least twice what he gets for it, if not more.

I live in San Francisco; delivery took 5 days from Ontario.

I'm looking forward to using it again tomorrow.

Thanks for review. I was looking at those as a possible Christmas Present for someone. Are they milder than a regular SS or a little more agressive?

I have the RR TTO and it has taken the top spot in my rotation. As others have said, it's not a mild razor. I use a very light touch when shaving with it. I highly recommend one.

It has taken the top spot of any TTO that I have ever owned, I love it, especially paired with a Shark SS.

Joe and the guys at Italian Barber are a class act, with very fast and reasonable shipping to the US.

Ok, I know this is an old thread, but I just got my RR Classic TTO yesterday and wante to post my first impressions. The doors seem a little thin and have a "tinny" sound, IMO. The overall construction seems to be good and the plating was nice and even with no bumps or spots. Used it with a Wilkenson Sword (German) and it seemed quite aggressive. I'm going to try it with some Derby Extra Super SS and see what I think of that combo.

I have been using mine almost exclusively for several months, and I love it. It has a great combination of ease of use, heft, moderate mildness and quality construction. I really don't find myself reaching for anything else these days.

This is an old thread, but since I just started using my Razorock TTO, I thought I'd share.
This is a very noisy razor, which I like! I can just listen and know I got a good shave.
My first TTO and I really enjoy shaving with it. Paired with feather blades it is awesome.

I'd love to get a TTO and the RR being Canadian is a bonus for me, however I have no other reference than the 34C. How does it compare? I have to be honest here I'm a nooby at 52 yrs old and the 34C is about as aggressive as I would like to get at this juncture. Opinions?

You should be fine. It's about equal to my 34C.

My opinion on it isn't as glowing as some of the reviews. For me it's a fine serviceable razor. No more, no less.
