Razor Suggestions

I have a Merkur Vision and I use feather razors and my overall experience is good. The head is a little big and it's a pain to get under my nose sometimes. I am looking for something that is not adjustable but gives a nice close shave. I like the weight of the vision. I'm debating between the 12C or the HD? Thoughts?

If it's between the HD or Open comb, sadly, you have to try both. You will save on shipping that way! This is how a RAD starts... A slant will be suggested soon...

My recommendation would be a Gillette SuperSpeed. It's not as heavy but smaller.

Seriously, you might need to try them both.

A gillette tech ball end, has a very low profile head and is one of my favourites. If only the handle were a tad bit longer....

Strangely yes... It starts with 1 or 2, then you get them in lots and first thing you know, you run out of room!

Thus goes the way for followers of the B&B mantra "buy them both."

And then, after some time, you move on to straights.
Then you liquidate your DE collection(save for one or two for travel/rushed mornings) to further fund your straight razor addiction. DAMHIK:tongue_sm

I share your preference for the heft of the Vision. I found using the smaller Merkurs less satisfying. I purchased a longer and heavier handle from a member here, Pureslab. It made all the difference in the world, it gave the Merkur meaningful weight and balance.

I held out for a few years with only 1 DE razor. The way i see it is that I can shave 2 maybe 3 times with a mach 3 or God forbid a fusion razor. Those cartriges cost $2 to $3 a pop. I'm ahead of the game...or at least I like to convince myself that I am.

Thanks for the input. I like the modification idea to the Merkur. I'll keep it in mind if I'm not in love with the other razors.
