What's new

Razor rotation question.

With a single razor and my current blades, I change the blade once a week. Easy to remember and full proof. However, what do you do ifyou have multiple razors in your rotation? How do you keep track of the number of shaves for each razor/blade pair?

I use one dice, which tells me what the shave number I am about to do. I only use a blade 3 times then throw it away.I use a pipe rack that I mounted on the wall which holds 18 razors. So dice (1,2,3) indicates the shave coming up next.
The number 5 in front means this will be my next razor to use. I have 3 go to razor blades so this means I use each razor for 9 straight days.Very simple, yet very effective.

Nice solution with the die, LMAN007.:thumbup1:

I'm a simple guy, so I just use the same razor until it's time to switch out my blade most times. If I want to use a different razor, I just move the blade over to my new choice. Works for me, but YMMV...

I keep a little sheet which tells me the razor and blade I am using (plus the number of shaves) together with the soap or Uberlather combo I am using. I also use the same razor until it is time to change blades and alternate between DE and SE razors.

I like that idea

I use an army green notebook, the standard issue kind. I write down what razor, brush, blade, cream/soap, and pre shave and put a little star beside the glad when I change.

I don't have a picture of the contents, but you get the general idea lol.

It sounds like everyone here is way more organized than I am. I generally use a blade for a week, but since I switch razors frequently I just guesstimate. If I start to use a razor and the blade isn't cutting well, I change it.

I change my set up, brush, razor and blade at the same time. Normally 3 shaves at a time. What I pick depends what I feel like at that time, the problem is I'm in love with my new mergress and can't put it down. It looks like I need to sell off some stuff

I use my blades for a week then toss them. It's easy for me, because I only use one razor per week, then move to the next. Each week, one blade, one razor. Easy, but that's me.

I have seen some gents here who keep the paper wrapper under the razor. Each time they use it, they put a tiny tear in the wrapper so they know how often its been used. I think this might be your best and easiest bet. If I were to use multiple blades and razors throughout the week, this is definitely the way I would go.

I have three razors in rotation, but use only two each week. I alternate razors each day, so each one gets used 3 to 4 times during the week. I change blades on Sunday night for the two razors I will be using during the upcoming week. The next Sunday I pick my two razors for the week, and put in two new blades.

Each blade gets 3 to 4 uses and go in the blade bank. I could probably get a few more shaves out of each blade, but this system works well for me without needing to remember how many shaves on each blade.

I don't track anything. If the blade is dull when I start to shave, then I change it. I rarely have more than two razors loaded with blades.

I have 3 razors now, but I've only been using my Fatboy since I got it. But generally I use a razor until I feel like the blade is done then I'll hit that razor with the Scrubbing Bubbles and move on to the next.
