I haven't seen this item mentioned here or anywhere else, presumably because it's relatively new so I decided to try it out. For anyone who isn't aware, Rapha Racing is a manufacturer of cyclist clothing and other related gear. They came out with a shaving cream that they say is good for shaving your legs (as many competitive cyclists do) as well as your face, but suffice to say that the majority of B&Bers won't be shaving their legs and neither will I.
I don't have the patience to write a detailed review. What I will say is that this soft cream is top notch stuff. It's very slick. I need to make it known upfront that I am a shower shaver and use only my hands for lathering, but just for kicks I decided to blow the dust off my old brush and see what happens. Yup, this stuff explodes in lather, for those who care about whipping up huge mounds of that fluffy stuff. I made two passes, WTG then ATG, and as usual I got my BBS shave just like with all my other creams (but that's due more to technique than product, fyi but I digress).
Very lovely scent as well. To my nose it smells a little like Martin de Candre, but just a tiny bit stronger. With notes of atlas cedar, juniper, cypress, lemon, cistus, pine needle, lavender, rosemary and patchouli, this cream really does smell like the warmer parts of the French Alps. Very brisk, very sporty. It's subtle though, so if you want a scent that permeates your bathroom when shaving, look elsewhere.
