Hi All,
I'm hoping to start a new "tradition" of sorts around here. I'd like to start a Quote of the Day. Something mildly interesting or inspirational. Something you've come up with yourself or something you read somewhere. I think it would be best if the quote was hand written and a picture/scan taken. No dates needed, but please include the author of the quote. Maybe a reason behind why you chose it?
The first quote is quite meaningful to me. I'm in the process of trying to get the thoughts and stories out of my head. While that sounds mildly psychotic, it's really not.
I have a couple ideas for stories based on some of the stories my wife's grandfather has told me about his time in WWII. There are days when "writer's block" hits me hard and I've had a hard time getting motivated to write. My favourite author, R.A. Salvatore, recently did an AMA on Reddit. I met him on his sole trip to Toronto a few years back and someone asked him a similar question and received a similar answer. I couldn't remember that one verbatim, thankfully he typed this one.
He was asked how he got past those crappy parts of writing. His response:
Quote of the day, 27 Aug 2013 by M Photography, on Flickr (written with Visconti Van Gogh, Sailor Jentle Blue-Black, on the B&B Essential Leather Notebook with F-C Folio.)
This is something that I think can be applied to many parts of our lives. Hope you can all find a bit of inspiration from it.
Cheers,
M.
