Quick question about ingrown hairs.

Hi, I'm new to these forums, sorry if this is a wrong place to post this question.

I have this problem for over a year now and it seems that nothing fixes it.

I don't have the textbook ingrown hairs, the hairs do come out BUT they are covered by about a millimeter of skin which causes irritation, it also doesn't help that I have very light skin and very thick growth (permanent stubble because hairs can't be cut but are visible slightly under the skin + redness).
Weird thing is that about 90% of the hairs on my moustache are like that, while my beard and sideburns are perfectly fine (never had any problem there). I thought that switching to electric razor would help because maybe I was shaving too close but after 6-7 month its obvious that it doesn't work. Tried freeing the hairs with a needle but skin just grows back over them. Tried exfoliating but it feels like its not doing anything unless I go rough which in turn makes irritation twice as bad.

At this point I'm willing to try anything, got Tendskin, Anthony Logistics Ingrown treatment, single blade razor, facial products.

I'm not very intuitive in this field I guess so if someone would post a detailed step by step course of action, that would be greatly appreciated.

I used to get ingrown hairs when I used Gillette Fusion. Since I switched to DE, I haven't had a single one. Even going ATG on my neck, where I was most prone for ingrown hairs, I have not got any. :)

Thanks, though I don't see how DE razor would make a difference I'm definitely giving it a try. Gonna order the products tomorrow!

I've seen it explained that Fusions stretch whiskers out and the next blade cuts them below the surface, where they may grow at an angle, not straight up. DE razors cut evenly at the surface. This all makes sense, but what baffles me is that I swear I'm cleaner shaven with DE than my old Fusion.

Anyway, try it yourself and see. Let us know how it works out.

i would have to concur with the sentiments. above. Once your technique improves, this should no longer be an issue for you. Good luck.
