I was cleaning my razors and I noticed a difference in the closing action between my SS and Fat Boy. When my SS closes its bay doors and locks, the center post remains slightly above the bay doors. When my Fat Boy closes, the center post drops slightly below the level of the bay doors. It's the same regardless of setting. Is this typical? Does it matter? If it does, how do I fix it? No, it doesn't affect shaving.

you had me wondering!! Just went and looked at my FB. Bar recess down to sit even or slightly below the doors. And yes my other TTO non-adjustable razors sit slightly above the doors. Seems like you are just fine.
I'm not saying one way is right and the other is wrong, but if you are talking the notched center bar one slips the blade over, all of mine stick up through the doors a touch when closed on mine....
Ditto. I just compared my Fat Boy to my SS's, and the center bar is above the door when closed. Although the do stick up slightly more on the SS's than on the Fat Boy.
