Question of the Merkur 34C and Edwind Jagger DE89BA - 'the barley'

I currently use a Merkur 34C HD and looking to add a Edwind Jagger DE89BA11bl. My question is there a difference in the visual of 'barley' on the Edwin Jagger handle and that of the Merkur handle?
I have viewed a number of sales pictures and to me the 'barley' looks very similiar if not the same of my Merkur 34C handle.

Is anyone who has one of each razor able to post a side by side close up photo to clearly highlight any difference or similarity?
If they are the same, then I will probably go for the 'lined' handle to create a difference.

Thanks
Innes

Here is my closeup shots of the EJ Barley handle. The knurling is not as deep as the Mekur
but I have had no issues when using it, even with wet hands.

As Alex has shown, there is a stark difference between the two. The Merkur has a rougher and grippier handle as opposed to the EJ89 Barley which has a smoother more refined handle. i, personally, prefer the 34C for the grip and find it a tad more aggressive.

Thanks guys - appreciate your help as the photos shows the difference. I was swinging between lined and barley but guess it will be the EJ 89 barley!

I have both the 34c HD and the EJ barley. As Celestino said, the barley handle is much smoother than the Merkur. Although I don't have a problem with hand slippage on either, you may find the EJ to be slippery if you tend to get shaving cream on your razor hand. The Merkur will never slip. The more apparent functional difference (at least for me) between these two razors is handle length. The EJ has a slightly longer handle, which accommodates a larger variety of hand positions. For example, I can comfortably use a pencil grip on the EJ, whereas I can't on the Merkur because it's just too short. And I don't have particularly large hands. Much has been said on these boards about the difference in shave quality between the EJ89 razors and the Merkur 34c, and each has their own fan club. I think both are very good razors, and each has their strengths and weaknesses.

For the 18 months I will be living in two different locations and rather than cart the shaving kit back and forth I will set up two lots of shaving gear. The reason I have chosen the ED is that according to all posts in the main it shaves similiar to the Merkur which I what I need and will have two razors to enjoy using. Your summary pretty well nails it - most helpful
Cheers
