What's new

Question for the SE gurus.

When were the "Made in England" Ever Ready 1912's produced? I picked up a silver one with the ornate chain handle that has gorgeous plating, looks like it rolled off the assembly line a few months ago. Don't know if I have the original box or not but the box appears to be green bakelite, handle has to be unscrewed from the head to stow in the box, and the box appears to have extra slots on either side of the handle for what I assume were blade storage.

Any help with a rough estimate of dating would be appreciated. Although I actually prefer the shave of the 1924 Ever Ready, this English 1912 is hands-down the prettiest vintage I own.

The bakelite case makes it sound like it's from the '30s. ASR made some razors they hawked as 'triple plated'. These were buffed to a smooth finish, plated, and buffed to a high polish --and they are in dazzling condition even after years of usage. I have a couple of these and the quality is extraordinary. If this is what you have, use it and enjoy it. A light cleaning from time to time is all they need.
