Question About My 46/47 Aristocrat

I hope you guys can help me. I recently bought a 46/47 Aristocrat on Ebay. I have one concern however. When you open the doors and look at the base plate, there is nothing written. It is suppose to say PAT. NOS. ON PACKAGE. The bottom of the base plate is stamped as it should be, just not the top. What might be the reason that nothing is stamped there? Should I be concerned that this is not original?

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,

if it never had endcaps it’s a Regent tech. If it has endcaps it’s either a Regent tech or 1946 Aristocrat. The second option is vague, as a few such razors exist, but I can’t find any clue under what name these were sold.
The base plate lacks the stamp as Regents are a Ranger/Milady tech head mated with an Aristocrat handle, produced in 1944-45.

Thank you everyone for your help. Here are the pics. Based on your comments, I have to assume it is a Regent Tech. However, I am not quite sure what an end cap is. Based on the pics, would you still say this is a Regent Tech? I have 2 different model years suggested in the comments. So if it is a Regent Tech, what year?

Once again, thank you all for all your help here.

One more thing. This razor came in an Aristocrat case with razor holder as can been seen by the attached pic. I spent $80 on this. Did I pay too much?

Looks like an Aristocrat at least like the one I just bought that was a ‘48 or ‘49 and is the same case but your case is in much better shape.

I think the price you paid is fair. They average $50 and up, yours is in really nice shape.

I would say, yours is a 1945 Regent Tech. Here is a interesting thread about it:

Regent Tech 1940

about your other question: here you can see what an endcap is:

If the Aristocrat case is matching, it's a 46 Aristocrat made from a Regent Tech with end caps added.
Until someone can prove that Regent Tech razors with added end caps came in Regent Tech cases.

You know Adam, that is the mystery. If the case is original with this razor, then your explanation is the only one that make sense. I do not know why someone would put a Regent Tech in an Aristocrat case. However if someone did just put it into an Aristocrat case at some later date, then based on Mr Razor's info, it has to be a 45 Regent Tech. I do not know if there is a way to find the truth for sure. However, I really appreciate your help on this.

Congratulations on your new razor. Whether it's a Regent or an Aristocrat it's in great condition, and either way should deliver a fantastic shave.
