Purchasing Liquor Online

So i spent some time searching around for information about buying liquor online. Seems like there was major changes a few years back and is allowed in some states while other states don't. In some cases the savings makes up for the shipping costs. The more you buy the cheaper the shipping per bottle.

From looking around i made this list:

In NC spirits and liquors can only be sold by state-owned ABC stores. And the State definitely won't allow online competition.

If you are a Canadian, there are strict regulations regarding the purchase and importing of alcoholic beverages into the country. If the alcohol content is greater than 24% and Canada Custom's reviews the shipment, you will be informed by letter that a they've incepted an intoxicating beverage and you will have the option of shipping it back (for about $30 cost to you) or having it destroyed (which means you are out the cost of the purchase). You CANNOT pay the duty to receive your alcohol. Canada has some of the most repressive alcoholic importation regulation in the world, rivaling many Middle-East states, and will not allow you to receive alcohol purchased in this fashion.

Some states allows a store in another state to purchase a permit that allows them to sell liquor in said state. When this happens the store has to pay taxes on the liquor sold (passed on to the buyer of course)

So for example..... Xyz liquor in Ohio buys a Texas permit. Mr. Smith who lives in Texas buy a bottle of from xyz liquor. Not only does he pay xyz liquor for the bottle and shipping but also pays xyz liquor tax. Xyz liquor then send the tax money to the state of Texas.

The laws get really hard to follow. Me personally will trust the store selling and will buy via credit card only.
